Holiday Tweeting

I just tried to get on Twitter.  All I found was this…

Apparently the world has traded the twinkling star of Bethlehem for the twittering syllables of birdies.

I suppose I should take the whale as a sign to log out and get back to Christmas a tad less “plugged in”.

Taize

This has done good things for my soul recently.

And no, some of you won’t like it at all.  Taize is this style of worship: Song, scriptures, spoken words all woven together that feels very “Catholic” or something like that.  But it crossed my path recently and brought me significant blessing.

They’ve got a great website to check out.  Click on the “MP3 and Podcast” link to check out what this is all about.  Their podcasts can also be downloaded for free from iTunes.

So go and be blessed.

Story of Stuff

Story of Stuff bannerThis is old news to some of you; perhaps new to others.  If you haven’t yet viewed this little 20-minute video, then you’re due.  If you’ve got friends, kids, or other people in your life, have them watch it with you.  I’d venture that some sort of quality conversation will arise from something that’s said.

It’s right HERE.  Now go learn some stuff about stuff.

(Thanks to Greg for unintentionally reminding me that I meant to post this weeks ago and forgot.)

The Corporation

An intriguing DVD was handed to me last week.

“The Corporation” looks at (wait for the plot twist here)… the corporation!  It explores how these mega-companies have come to exist, how they’ve grown so unbelievably large, and the massive role that they play in the world today.

Things learned while watching ranged from a number of “Hmmm.  Well, I never knew that” to a few “Wow, THAT IS significant” to a couple of “What the @&*%^?!”.

It’s a bit over 2 hours, but I’d recommend it to anyone who’s got an interest in understanding a bit more of what makes our world tick.

And if you’re not someone who’s got such an interest, then I’d especially recommend it to you.

More can be found at The Corporation.

Eyes (28/30)

A search for an “eyes” image led me to this picture, and I just think it’s beautiful.
