Bed Time

For the second straight day, I woke up at 5:22 AM, unable to sleep anymore. So that sets my first 4 nights here at a grand total of 16 hours of sleep. But man, am I getting some reading and iPodding done!

Gratefully, I’ll probably be sorted out in this regard JUST IN TIME to return home to Canadian time.

Yep, that’s me… the king of sweet timing!

Computing

After confirming that my laptop cannot get into the school network and that WordPress is not accessible within China, I’ve been relegated to saving any entries during this trip and posting them once we arrive in Hong Kong or back at home.

So to the two of you who were looking for updates, now you know.

I mean, you’ll know in two weeks.

Heading Out

China…

I fly tomorrow.  My lovely wife is already there, half-way into a medical mission that she’s a part of.  I’ll meet up with her just in time to travel and visit old friends for a couple weeks before getting back here by the end of the month.

It still feels a bit surreal, and no… my bags aren’t packed yet.

So this post is done.

Catch you in the Middle Kingdom!

Speaking Page Updated

The past three weeks’ worth of lessons from Glen Elm are up, and one of them is by my friend Blair.  If that doesn’t rack me up some extra hits, I don’t know what to do.

If you’re looking for some exploration into the lives of Manasseh, Abigail, or Hezekiah, HERE is your spot.

Words by Richard Wurmbrand

Do you know this man?

Richard Wurmbrand.

Among much else, he’s the founder of Voice of the Martyrs, which I have mentioned in an earlier post… and will likely continue to mention.

Here’s something he wrote in “In God’s Underground“, which tells of his time in prison for his faith…

“The prison years did not seem long for me, for I discovered, alone in my cell, that beyond belief and love there is a delight in God: a deep and extraordinary ecstasy of happiness that is like nothing in this world.  And when I came out of jail I was like someone who comes down from a mountaintop where he has seen for miles around the peace and beauty of the countryside, and now returns to the plain.”

Man… do those words make anyone else stir just a bit?!

Or shake your head?
