Embracing Accusation

Whoa… this song by Shane & Shane has been a beauty to me lately!  It’s over 6 minutes long, but the video below does a great job of focusing one on each significant line of lyrics.  Enjoy, my friends…

Simply Nothing

After hours of carefully loading my iPod for our vacation, I listened to it for all of 20 minutes along the way.  This song got repeated for about 12 of those minutes.  It was one of those I-really-needed-to-hear-this -song-at-this-time experiences, and I’ll forever attach this tune to driving along the Red Sea.

From Shawn McDonald, this is “Simply Nothing“…

So hard to fathom the pain in Your eyes,
As You’re watching Your children, doing what You despise.
In pursuit of our own, we just go round and round.
Another nail to our cause, we continue to pound.

What are you, man, if you do not learn love?
What are you, man, if you do not learn love?

So hard to fathom, oh, the feelings inside,
As You’re watching Your people choosing to die.
You called out a warning to all that would hear,
Saying come to Me, come to Me,
And I will draw near…

What are you, man, if you do not learn love?
What are you, man, if you do not learn love?

Learn love… I must… Learn love

Vision of You (16/30)

This Shane & Shane song has got my ear and more.

The video below doesn’t sound just like the recorded version, but it’s close enough to give you the idea.  Further below are the lyrics.

Come meet us, King Jesus.
Oh wind of change, blow through this temple.
Sweet Spirit of God, come and mend our hearts,
For all we have are songs unless You come.

Awaken what’s inside of me.
Tune my heart to all You are in me.
Even though You’re here, God come.
And may the vision of You be the death of me.
And even though you’ve given everything,
Jesus come.

Come free us, King Jesus
It’s the only way that freedom’s given
From You and You alone, in the work You’ve already done
For all we have are songs, unless You come.

Here we are, Lord, in this place,
Crying out for Your embrace,
To hear Your voice, more than songs,
Please come.
Jesus come.

Remedy

I have been LOVIN’ this song lately… on the new David Crowder album.  The video below offers a decent touch to this gem…

Overdressed

On August 28, my favourite band, Caedmon’s Call, releases its newest album.

For any familiar with this group, it’s of interest that Derek Webb has reconnected with the rest of the crew for this album and the tour that will follow.  A nice little interview with the band about this new album can be read HERE.

There’s a sweet promotional through the band’s website, where you can get a 2-CD set for only $12 US…

And yes, I’m already signed up.
