“To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man.” That’s what Ric Flair used to say back in my wrestling-watching years.
Yesterday, the Lions’ domination of the Riders just proved: Yeah, they’re still “the man”! We lost in every part of the game, and I don’t even know what we did wrong. The Lions were simply firing on all cylinders, and we couldn’t match up with it. Nothing more to say…
Except…
There’s always next year.
if it makes you eel any better, the only CFL game I’ve ever seen was at the marshmellow dome in Vancouver, vs. Sask. I was with the Taylors, and the brought a big Sask. flag that we ran up and down the stairs whenever they scored. People threw stuff at us – it was fun. And the Lions lost… not that I’ve ever paid attention to the CFL, but it was fun for my first (and only) football game. Growing up it was all about the Canucks (after The Great One got traded).
It was a sad game… but there is always hope in the land of green and white.
I thought of watching the game only for a few minutes, but then other things came up. So, I thought I would at least check the score after the game. Alas, the Riders let ppl down again. C’est la vie.
The green and white have left me blue. I guess you could call that my color commentary on the game. It was a sad display of ineptitude like I haven’t seen in quite some time. I feel especially slighted after having defended the Rider’s ALL MORNING to the numberous home town fans here in the Lion’s Den.
